Dillons trip 1/29/11

Finally made it to Dillons and got a few okay deals. I followed Frugal Fritzie to get the coupon matchups and before discounts, the 40 items totaled over $50. My 8yo son was shocked to see that total go down so fast =). I only got 5 things that did not have coupons or discounts [white sandwich bread for 49cents!!] and that was cans of green beans for $.49 each to bring my total of Mega Event items to an even 20. If you don't understand the Mega Event, it is advertised as ''buy 10, get $5 off", so they advertise the 50cent off price of each thing, BUT if you get 11 items, it still only takes off $5, so it is the best deal when you have an even 10, or 20, or 30, which I think is the max per order.....
And I was hoping to see if the Joplin Dillon's was still letting you use MQ and EQ on the same items, but I didn't have any matchup. However, on mydillons.com, they are saying, at least on certain ones that they cannot be combined, so that's a bummer for sure.
The deals you should definitely know about that I cashed in on, were......
yoplait yogurt cups for $.50/1
all sorts of MQ available in print or online, I used a $.50/8 and $.50/4
12 cups for $4, or $.33 each
There was no catalina that printed or anything else like was reported and why I got 12, but it was still a great deal!! Wish I'd gone ahead and used up all the yogurt coupons!
Rotel was in the MegaEvent for $.99, making them $.49
I had a MQ for buy 3, get a 4th free, which took off $.99
4 cans rotel for $.97, or $.24 each
colgate tarter control whitening toothpaste on clearance for $1.04
I had 2 $.50/1 MQ which doubled
2 tubes toothpaste for $.08, or $.04 each
hormel chili master $1.39, in the megaevent for $.89
printed 2 MQ for $.75/1, creating a moneymaker after they doubled!!

Trip to Dillons 7/16/09

Manager Specials:
Bob Mills Apple and Blueberry Granola Mix $2.79
Dillons 8pack hamburger buns $.50/1 x 2 = $1/2

OTHER ITEMS:
Green Seedless Grapes $.99/lb = $3.15
Kroger cottage cheese $2
Kroger Ketchup $1.29
10 lbs kroger potatoes $2.99
1 gallon "Superman" flavored Kroger sherbet/ice cream tub $2.99 [I cannot recommend this flavor blend--it is cotton candy, banana, and bubblegum--who knew!! not the regular rainbow i expected]

Mega-Sale buy 10, save $5 {price after $.50 is subtracted in parenthesis}:
Kroger individual pizzas (2) $1/1 = {$.50/1}
Chex Mix $2.49 - MQ $.50/1 = {$.99/1}
SoBe LifeWater 20oz (2) $1/1 - BOGO MQ = {$0!!!}
Kelloggs MiniWheats 16-18oz (4) $2.99,
used 1 BOGO and 3 $1/1 from mailer
= {$1.50/1}
Sunny Delight $1 - MQ $.25/1 from mag. = {$0!!!}

my total OOP with $1.26 tax = $24.86

I think I did a decent job even though I haven't kept up on the coupons as of late. To find these printable MQs, go to the list at The Weekly Grocery and support another mommy by clicking on the coupons she lists for the Dillons Sale. I found the Sunny D Q in a parenting magazine at the dr.'s office today--hope they didn't mind me cutting it out :) I think it was Parents, but I'm not sure.......the cereal bigtime Qs are from VocalPoint--sign up to get your great coupons!!! They send various insanely GREAT coupons every once in a while........

my grocery trips 4/9

Let's just say I was not completely prepared with all my coupons, but I knew Food4Less had chicken and potatoes at good prices. Dillons would have been a MUCH better trip if they'd had the gillette body wash (my moneymaker) or the 4packs of cottenelle TP {scroll down to see my previous post}, NEVERTHELESS, here is what I got....

First stop--Food 4 Less
Granny Smith and Rome Apples $.98/lb (6 for $2.20)
Kraft Strawberry Marshmallows on the clearance rack $1.25/1
-MQ $.50/2 found by the marshmallows
Best Choice 64 oz apple juice $1.76
Cranberry Juice Cocktail $1.48
15lbs potatoes $2.98
5lbs chicken breast $7.40
Total OOP with tax=$18.69

Second Stop--Dillons
P&G Deals-Charmin TP $7.99
Zest $3.50
Mach3 Razors $6.49
EQs razors ($3.00) and TP ($.50)
P&G buy 3 ($3.00)
MQ razors ($2.00)
= $9.48
General Mills Deals-Fiber One Bars $2.67
Chex Mix Bars $2.67
Cereal $2.67
Fruit Snacks $4/2
EQs cereal ($.50) fiber one ($.50) ($1.00)
MQs ($.75) ($.50) ($.60) ($.55)
GenMills "Free Milk" ($4.00)
= $2.01
I paid OOP with tax $13.40

Just FYI--the cereal 3/$8 is on the front end of an aisle, not with the cereal. Also, if I could've gotten the gillette body wash, I would've saved quite a bit more, but they were OUT of stock. They also do not look like they are stocking the 4packs of cottonelle--but they may just have been out of stock again.

Dillons deals 4/8-4/14

See the Grocery Weekly for a whole list of deals. The only difference I see between her Topeka store and our Joplin one is the "buy 3, get X free".

Our Deal: Buy 3/$8--9-13 oz General Mills Cereal, 5.3-8.9 selected Nature Valley, Fiber One, or Chex Mix Bars, get 2 FREE Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks (great for Easter goodies).
You need to go to her site and use the sidebar to print MQ for fruit snacks, cinnamon toast crunch, and nature valley bars (I'm looking for fiber one instead), then load cellfire EQ for the cereal and fiber one bars. Also cut out the chex bars MQ from 2/8 SS. Ideally, with all the right coupons, you'll spend $.60/1, a total of $3 for all 5 boxes!

P&G: Look for the green tags to save $3/3 instantly at checkout.
I'm planning on using my EQ for $3/1 mach3 or $2/1 venus razors {$5.49} and $2/1 gilette body wash {$2.50}
plus a $2/1 MQ for each (expired 3/31, but Dillons accepts expired Qs for 2 weeks)
= overage of $.01-$1.01,
and I haven't decided if the Zest bars, Underjams, EasyUps, or Charmin tp are the best deals for my 3rd purchase---all are on my need-to-buy list, but none will be free and so far, the easy ups and charmin are the only ones with coupon match ups, so we'll see!!

A little extra: Go to http://www.cottonelle.com/ to print your 2 more free MQ for $.50/1 on TP--then buy the $.99 4packs and with your $.25/1 EQ from cellfire, you will profit $.27/2!!

I'll try to post on Friday what I get tomorrow! Let me know what deals you find!!

Dillons trip 3/3/09

I got to visit a new dillons (to me) in Pittsburg, KS since I took my 3yo dd to the dentist yesterday (she did awesome by the way!! Had to be numbed for a filling and she did GREAT!).
Anyway--they only had 5count cinnamon rolls that were 10/$10 and eligible for the catalina, so here is what I got!

First Transaction
3 Pillsbury cinnamon rolls $1/1 = $3
2 $.30/1 MQ, dbld to $.60/1 = ($1.20)
1 $.35/1 MQ, dbld = ($.70)
WITH TAX OOP = $1.25, received $1.50 catalina, overage $.25

Second Transaction
2 liter Dr. Pepper $1.59
Ocean Spray Lite Drink $1.98
Ocean Spray Drink $1.98
Kroger natural sour cream $1
Kroger Colby block cheese $1.88
Kroger bag shredded cheese $1.88
Kroger 24oz frozen fries $1.99
Kroger waffle pretzels $1
apples $1/lb ($4.25)
2 Pillsbury Toaster Strudels $2.49
Gilette Shampoo $4.29
= $26.82

EQs
Gilette $2.00
2 Toaster Strudels $.50 = ($1.00)
MQs
$3.50 (leftover catalina)
$1.50 (catalina from 1st transaction)
$1/1 Ocean Spray lite
$2/1 Gilette shampoo
$1.59/1 FREE Dr. Pepper mailer
2 $.35/1 toaster strudels, dbld = ($1.40)

WITH TAX, OOP = $14.74

I saved almost 50%! Plus I scored a LOT of mqs from different blinkies around the store, including the last 2 $1.50/1 GoodNights!! Although Pittsburg doesn't have the self checkout that Joplin does, the cashier (Mollie) was very nice, quick, and overall GOOD!!!

Deals here and there...

Here are this week deals at Dillons.
They are still doing the $3 off 10 item deals......

Ever wondered about using a company's coupon on a different item? Or thought it wouldn't work? WELL--here is the secret!! It CAN and DOES work sometimes!

Print your own cleaning supply coupons and save at Walgreens this week.
I plan on this:
Transaction 1:
Fusion Gamer on sale $8.99
Use $4.00 MQ {2/8 P&G}
OOP $4.99, receive $6 RR

Transaction 2:
2 Scrubbing Bubbles wipes $3/2
printed $3/2 MQ
2 windex wipes$3/2
2 printed $1.50/1 MQ
2 Starbucks chocolate packs $10/2
2 $1/1 MQ {from a blinkie by the chocolates}
1 ESQ $3, comes off both, so -$6
chocolates will cost $1/1
total comes to $6, but use $6 RR, so just pay tax?!?

Transaction 3:
Another Gillette Fusion Gamer Razor
get $6 RR

Transaction 4:
4 Axe deodorants/antipersperents 25% off
$3.21/1
Use $6 RR
OOP $6.84 and get 2 movie passes!!! {that is worth what I spent in all 4 transactions!}

MAYBE a 5th transaction for another razor so I can have the RR for next weeks deals--hopefully much better than this weeks!! And a little birdie tells me they will be!!
ALSO--check out the Glade coupons and deal listed so your house can smell nice and romantic for this weekend :)

PRICECUTTER
2/11-2/17 2009
I haven't dbl checked to make sure these are the lowest prices available, but they look like decent deals--please tell me what I miss!!
  • Tyson Fresh Boneless Skinless Fryer Breast Fillet or Tender 1/2 price = $1.99/lb
  • Williams Bacon 12oz. $1.79
  • Kraft Ranch Dressing 16oz. $1.87
    use MQ $1/2 {SS } = $1.37/1
  • Hiland Sour Cream or Dip 8oz. $.79
  • Hiland Butter Qtrs. 1lb. $1.79
  • Powerade 32oz. $.79
  • Musselman's Apple Juice $1.69 (Aldis offbrand is probably cheaper)

Aldi's
I just saw one stand out deal and that's grapes for $1.68/2 lbs??? Good Grief--the Aldi's circular is missing in action! But I know it was a good deal and I don't buy grapes (even in winter) unless they are cheap......

WalMart
I haven't been in our WalMart lately except for diapers, so I haven't researched a whole lot, BUT I was read somewhere that you can get Purina $4/1 MQ (you must select a charity and I just had to search for one in my state since none in my area are registered) and there is a cat food less than $4 to get for free--but using it on an 18 lb bag would still be a great value if you buy cat food regularly anyway or are in need of some (unless you are just trying to get freebies and hope some other company comes out with another big Q).
Also--an ongoing deal if your WalMart carries sample Tide detergent in the travel section for around $.98 (my town does not, but local ones do), find the $1 MQ in the mailers or even the lower priced ones from the Sunday inserts and get Tide for dirt cheap!
Check this out for a great list of deals!! INCLUDING using those Tuna Qs from VocalPoint mailers!!! We'll see how our prices match up against hers........

Check out these coupons.......maybe some new ones you haven't printed yet?

ALSO--FYI--Dillon's accepts expired coupons up to 2 weeks past expiration--that is their official policy I got from the mgr. (darn--the month old sour cream ones couldn't work--thanks anyway Jodie!!)

Thanks, Shannon for the GREAT find!!

E-Coupons--Who Knew?!?!?

Well, after my first trip back to Dillon's in YEARS, I am sold on their dbl coupon policy and sales which make a 30minute trip worth it occassionnally ;)

I signed up for www.cellfire.com, www.shortcuts.com, and www.pgesaver.com. These are ALL free EQ sites, so they load directly onto my Dillon's card.
AND, apparently, these EQ (e-coupons) can be used along with MQ (manufacturer coupons) and can add up to major savings when you hit the right sales..........we'll see!

Sorry to bore those of you who are far advanced into the computer coupon world, but this is new for me!!
