Walgreens Trip 2/6/11

YAY for getting out of the house after blizzard 2011. We went to the store last Monday in preparation for the snow which waited till later that night. And then didn't stop and didn't stop and didn't stop--it was beautiful! And it kept us home for a few days to many =). I finally got out and away from the insanity today and feel completely restored! Well, maybe not completely--dreading another late night and early morning with congested babies who feel the need to drain me dry--literally...

Look at that hardworking man!!

Thursday we received about 3 more inches on top of the 12-16 from blizzopia, but it all started to melt on Saturday just in time to refreeze and get more tonight. I've never seen snow like this. Not all at once anyway. Pretty amazing.
ANYWHO.....trying to hold down the fort and help everyone to feel better and not need a trip to the doctor, but the kids are a bit stir-crazy and we've had to be a bit inovative with PE inside. YouTube exercise videos. So far they are a hit. Especially projected up on the wall. Fun times.
Now, my outing, of course, was to a store. Walgreens, of course. And I forgot to take my $15 RR that I got last Monday. Of course. But I still made out extremely well. Spent $28 OOP and got, in 2 transactions: 6 ragu, 3 skippy peanut butter [sorry Carthage shoppers, I did leave 3 peanut butter and 2 ragu on the shelf though], 1 salt, 1 baking soda, 3 cans black olives, 5 dawn, 2 colgate, 1 box lipton tea, 2 swiffer wetjet refills, 2 packs cascade, 2 boxes magic erasers, and 2 moisturizing hand sanitizers. Came home with $13 RR, so total cost was $15. Used Coupon Teacher to print my list and plan on going back, weather and sickness permitting, to get $6.99 Scott TP and perhaps candy for Valentine's Day and Ocean Spray Juice $2.99 and get $2 RR. I should be able to use up a lot of these P&G RR on that stuff.

Need razors?

If so, dig out that SmartSource insert from 12/12/10 and cut out the $2/1 bic disposable MQ--it expires Sunday, yes, THIS Sunday--and THAT is the day you have to go use it at Walgreens because they will have them for $4.99 and recieve a $1 RR, so also pick up a $.25 no nonsense knee highs [or other useful cheap filler], use your MQ and a $2 RR [which is why you have to have a filler], spend a lil over $1 OOP and receive another $1 RR. YEAH!!
Just me......planning out my trips to Wags........will also be getting cereal this next week [and vitamins!!]...........

Wags 1/4/11

Another good week at Walgreens!! Especially if you have a bunch of those p&g RR that need spending.
If you are new to this couponing thing or don't understand how I could possibly get a good deal at Walgreens, head over to Hip2Save and watch her videos. She has many of the deals I do--nope--I am rarely original and steal almost all my ideas ;)

I was in Webb City last night for Bball practice, so went to their Wags and was just slightly disappointed. I hope a trip in ours will go a little better. They were out of the 19cent 5packs of mechanical pencils which would be the BEST fillers ever [have to use a WQ to get that price], so I resorted to the 39cent bowl fresh and rubber gloves [again, WQ].

TRANSACTION 1
Oscillo for Children $8.99
-printable MQ $2/1 [it's a beeper, but they should push it thru]
the WQ does NOT work for this product
{received $9 RR}
= $2 moneymaker

Crest 6.4o toothpaste $2
-$.75/1 MQ [Jan. p&g]
{received $1 RR}
= $.25

Finish Electrosol $3.99
-$2.25 MQ [1-2 SS, I believe]
{received $1.50 RR}
=$.24

I was OOP $9.48 + tax and received $11.50 in RR.
It also printed out a catalina for a free box of breathe right strips.

TRANSACTION 2
The Nestle deal---see HERE for uptodate Wags deals
4 liquid coffeemates BOGO $2.49
-4 $1/1 printable MQ
4 stouffers skillet meals 2/$8
-4 $1/1 printable MQ
{received $5 RR for spending $20+}
= $7.98

3 fillers = 2 bowl fresh and 1 rubber gloves $.39/1
[this is so I can use 3 RR]
Used $9 Oscillo, and 2 $2 p&g from last week
= $1.15 OOP and recieved $5 RR.

TRANSACTION 3
was a repeat of 1 minus the finish.
I used a filler of a 69cent gum
and used the $5 RR
= $3.93 OOP and received $9 and $1 RR.

WITH TAX, I spent $15.40 OOP and came home with $12.50 in RR
= a REALLY good trip to Walgreens!!! ;)

Wags 12/29/10

Yep, gonna finish this year off big with lots of Walgreens posts--haha!!

This was a necessary trip since I forgot toilet paper yesterday. Of course, I stopped at the Dollar Tree again to see if there were any KC Star left--nope! Oh well!! I had big plans for lots of transactions, but, alas, left the checkbook at home. No biggie--going back tomorrow with my friend Diana to show her the ropes!! YAY!

First transaction:
Febreez 25% off $2.46 [it's cheaper at Dillons this week--$1.49], but it rounded out my deal.
used MQ $1/1 from a mailer
Tide Stain release $3.99
used MQ $1/1 from mailer
Bounce Dryer Bars $3.99
Used $2.50/1 from vocalpoint mailer
OOP = $5.94 and since I spent $10 [$10.44 to be exact] in certain items, received $2 RR

Second Transaction:
Huggies wipes [my filler--a cheap item that you do not have a MQ for] $2.99
- Walgreens Q $1/1 = $1.99
2 olay 2pack bars, BOGO 50% off $2.99/1
- 2 $2/1 MQ from January p&g insert = $.48 [12cents per bar]
Charmin 9count $4.49 sale
- MQ $1/1 from mailer = $3.49
Used the $2 RR because I had a filler [which I chose a more expensive filler because it was a NEED].
And spent $3.96 OOP.

According to the receipts, I saved $18.33. This isn't completely accurate because the stuff is sometimes cheaper elsewhere, BUT I still saved and got GOOD stuff. Lookin forward to ANOTHER trip Thursday!! LOL~

Wags Moneymaker 12/28/10

Wahoo for making money at Walgreen's!!!!!
I had this all typed out and then my busy busy 14month old Elizabeth eraased it, so this will just be short and sweet......
FIRST, i went to DollarTree to pick up a couple extra Sunday papers for a $1. Then I snagged the $4/1 sinex product out of the p&g insert.
The best deal would be to have 4 of those coupons and grab 4 of the $5 box of Dayquil Sinex. When you buy $15 of certain sinex/vicks stuff you get $5 RR, or buy $20 and get $10. You would only spend $4 OOP and receive $10 RR, MAKING $6!!!! I didn't foresee the box of dayquil sinex being included, so I didn't buy enough papers, but I got 2 boxes of them, a sinex spray for $6 and a babyvaporub for $4 with $1 MQ and the 3 $4/1 MQs, paying $7 OOP, and still making $3!! YAY!! There are all sorts of combos to make money with this. I plan on getting more papers if I can and even scanning the recycling dumpster for anyone on top of the game and already throwing out this sunday's paper.
I also want to get in on the pantene and herbal essence and aussie deals--none free, but good deals when you go thru it like we do!!
Just me........off to fight some sinus junk.....

My deal at Wags Sat. 29th

If you have not signed up for www.vocalpoint.com, you are missing out on great freebies and coupons. I was able to use my Rice Crispies coupons yesterday at Walgreens and they gave me $$ for taking 2 boxes. I just wish I was on top of things and had done this earlier in the week! Oh well!
2 boxes rice crispies on sale 2/$5
MQ free rice crispies ($2.50)
MQ ($1.00)
Total: $1.50

= $.50 overage!!!!!

If you know of other places to use my other $1 off rice crispies coupons, let me know!! I also just received vocalpoint's latest promo--Kashi Honey Cereal--haven't seen it in stores yet, so if you see a decent deal, let me know!

Huggies jumbo pack diapers $2.33/pack

Print your $5 and $3 Huggies Qs here, then head over to Common Sense with Money to find out why you should hold onto the Qs until next week (3/8) to use at Walgreens.....make sure to print 2 of each Q, you'll want to use at least 3 to get the best deal possible!!!
Don't wait to print your Qs though, they could be gone soon!!!!

Huggies Jumbo Packs $10
Buy 3, use 2 $5 MQ, 1 $3 MQ
OOP = $17, receive $10 RR, spent $7/3 or $2.33/1

My goal? Find 2 other people with an extra $3 MQ and repeat deal with 3 $3 MQ...
= $3.67/1, an avg with transaction #1 of $2.99/1.....
I may very well stock up on itty bitty baby diapers if I can justify storing them for 7+ months :) But I have one using GoodNights, 1 using nighttime training pants, 1 in diapers and 1 on the way--whatever I can do to save!!!!

Shopping deals

Well, thanks to virus and cold city around here, i never got around to posting PriceCutter and Dillon's deals--and we haven't gotten to go yet, either, although we were en rout yesterday when my 3yo got hit by the stomach bug (or carsickness, but my bet is the bug the rest of us had).
Anyway--PriceCutter is having some great BOGO items that I PLANNED on doing a school trip with my 8yo dd and listing the prices to see if they really are great deals. I guess BOGO Best Choice crackers will be the only thing we stock up on from there, though :)

I'm searching the Walgreens ad for next week though and finding what I am sure to need/want.

  • Royal Instant Pudding
    WQ 4/$1 (remember the Amish friendship bread? it calls for pudding!! I'm pretty sure this is cheaper than Aldi's)
  • Colgate toothpaste $.99
    (if you haven't used all your $1 MQ, you still can!)
  • Gilette Fusion Gamer Razor $8.99
    (our Walgreen's has yet to stock this razor--has never had it YET)
    Use $4/1 MQ {2/8 PG}
    OOP $4.99, but receive $6 RR, profit $1.01
  • Match the razor deal with a Venus Embrace for $8.99 or a Spa Breeze razor and matching cartridge set and get an additional $4 RR. I haven't figured up the matching MQs and best deal yet--but I know there has to be one, either that or they are just trying to get you to buy more and not be satisfied with an overage :) No other blogger I read has listed this yet...but be sure to check out others I reference to soon!
  • Reynolds Wrap 20ft.
    WQ $.89
    Here's your chance to use up the $1/1 MQs you might have left--after you have a year's worth stocked up [or whatever your pantry will hold, share your abundance of foil with churches, friends, or other food banks/charities (Salvation Army, Carthage Crisis Center)]
  • One-A-Day Multivitamins
    WQ $6/1, I believe the 60ct are usually $7.99
    Use $1/1 MQ {1/4 SS or printable}
    OOP $.99
  • Tums $4/1 (there are other offers, buy $30, get $10 RR, but this is the one I could use, although I'm gonna keep checking to see what the best deal is for us)
    Have to buy 8.......
    Use 4 $1/2 MQ or 8 $1.25/1 {1/25}
    OOP $20-$28, receive $10 RR, spending $10-$18 or $1.25 - $2.25/1
  • Kraft Shells and Cheese 3/$5
    $1/1 printable
    If you can get 3 MQ, =3/$2, or $.66/1
    If you just use 2 MQ, = $1/1
  • Theraflu 2/$10
    Use 2 $2/1 printable
    Get $4 RR = FREE!! What timing!!!
  • Dr. Pepper, 7 up, Sunkist, or Canada Dry 2-liter, buy 4/$5
    Get $2 RRs
    4/$3 after RRs! or $.75/1
    If you can use the free Q mailer for Diet Dr. Pepper, these will figure to $.44/1!!!

Check out Deal Seeking Mom for her list too.....

Deals here and there...

Here are this week deals at Dillons.
They are still doing the $3 off 10 item deals......

Ever wondered about using a company's coupon on a different item? Or thought it wouldn't work? WELL--here is the secret!! It CAN and DOES work sometimes!

Print your own cleaning supply coupons and save at Walgreens this week.
I plan on this:
Transaction 1:
Fusion Gamer on sale $8.99
Use $4.00 MQ {2/8 P&G}
OOP $4.99, receive $6 RR

Transaction 2:
2 Scrubbing Bubbles wipes $3/2
printed $3/2 MQ
2 windex wipes$3/2
2 printed $1.50/1 MQ
2 Starbucks chocolate packs $10/2
2 $1/1 MQ {from a blinkie by the chocolates}
1 ESQ $3, comes off both, so -$6
chocolates will cost $1/1
total comes to $6, but use $6 RR, so just pay tax?!?

Transaction 3:
Another Gillette Fusion Gamer Razor
get $6 RR

Transaction 4:
4 Axe deodorants/antipersperents 25% off
$3.21/1
Use $6 RR
OOP $6.84 and get 2 movie passes!!! {that is worth what I spent in all 4 transactions!}

MAYBE a 5th transaction for another razor so I can have the RR for next weeks deals--hopefully much better than this weeks!! And a little birdie tells me they will be!!
ALSO--check out the Glade coupons and deal listed so your house can smell nice and romantic for this weekend :)

PRICECUTTER
2/11-2/17 2009
I haven't dbl checked to make sure these are the lowest prices available, but they look like decent deals--please tell me what I miss!!
  • Tyson Fresh Boneless Skinless Fryer Breast Fillet or Tender 1/2 price = $1.99/lb
  • Williams Bacon 12oz. $1.79
  • Kraft Ranch Dressing 16oz. $1.87
    use MQ $1/2 {SS } = $1.37/1
  • Hiland Sour Cream or Dip 8oz. $.79
  • Hiland Butter Qtrs. 1lb. $1.79
  • Powerade 32oz. $.79
  • Musselman's Apple Juice $1.69 (Aldis offbrand is probably cheaper)

Aldi's
I just saw one stand out deal and that's grapes for $1.68/2 lbs??? Good Grief--the Aldi's circular is missing in action! But I know it was a good deal and I don't buy grapes (even in winter) unless they are cheap......

WalMart
I haven't been in our WalMart lately except for diapers, so I haven't researched a whole lot, BUT I was read somewhere that you can get Purina $4/1 MQ (you must select a charity and I just had to search for one in my state since none in my area are registered) and there is a cat food less than $4 to get for free--but using it on an 18 lb bag would still be a great value if you buy cat food regularly anyway or are in need of some (unless you are just trying to get freebies and hope some other company comes out with another big Q).
Also--an ongoing deal if your WalMart carries sample Tide detergent in the travel section for around $.98 (my town does not, but local ones do), find the $1 MQ in the mailers or even the lower priced ones from the Sunday inserts and get Tide for dirt cheap!
Check this out for a great list of deals!! INCLUDING using those Tuna Qs from VocalPoint mailers!!! We'll see how our prices match up against hers........

Check out these coupons.......maybe some new ones you haven't printed yet?
