Wags Moneymaker 12/28/10

Wahoo for making money at Walgreen's!!!!!
I had this all typed out and then my busy busy 14month old Elizabeth eraased it, so this will just be short and sweet......
FIRST, i went to DollarTree to pick up a couple extra Sunday papers for a $1. Then I snagged the $4/1 sinex product out of the p&g insert.
The best deal would be to have 4 of those coupons and grab 4 of the $5 box of Dayquil Sinex. When you buy $15 of certain sinex/vicks stuff you get $5 RR, or buy $20 and get $10. You would only spend $4 OOP and receive $10 RR, MAKING $6!!!! I didn't foresee the box of dayquil sinex being included, so I didn't buy enough papers, but I got 2 boxes of them, a sinex spray for $6 and a babyvaporub for $4 with $1 MQ and the 3 $4/1 MQs, paying $7 OOP, and still making $3!! YAY!! There are all sorts of combos to make money with this. I plan on getting more papers if I can and even scanning the recycling dumpster for anyone on top of the game and already throwing out this sunday's paper.
I also want to get in on the pantene and herbal essence and aussie deals--none free, but good deals when you go thru it like we do!!
Just me........off to fight some sinus junk.....

WalMart Ad Matches thru 9/8

I had some excellent ad matches at WalMart this weekend that are mostly still available. Aldi's puts out their new ad in the Monday paper, so they have new ads out now, but the Summerfresh and H&W ads come out on Wed., so you can still get these good deals thru Tuesday. Thanks so much to my friend who gave me the ads (from Jasper and Lamar stores--yes, Carthage is ad-matching these!!) Find Heinz, Hilands, BarS, or Breyers coupons and you have TREMENDOUS savings!!!!

Aldi's:
grapes $.79/lb;
bagged bananas $.35/lb

Other:
BarS HotDogs $.50/1 {x 4} = $2 {regularly $.88/1, saved $1.52}
Breyer's Ice Cream $5/2 {regularly $7/2, saved $2}
Heinz Ketchup 20-24 oz $.98
10 lb bag russett potatoes $1.99 [limit 1] {on sale for $4, saved $2.01}
1/2 gallon Hiland's 100% OJ $.99 [limit 1]

i don't remember the regular prices on the ketchup and OJ, but I am thinking they were about 1/2price. There are many other great deals, but these were what was on my list {we had a boy turning 7 on Saturday, thus the ice cream and the OJ to go with Saturday's breakfast!!}

WalMart also had 3lb bags of Granny Smith apples for $2.50.

My deal at Wags Sat. 29th

If you have not signed up for www.vocalpoint.com, you are missing out on great freebies and coupons. I was able to use my Rice Crispies coupons yesterday at Walgreens and they gave me $$ for taking 2 boxes. I just wish I was on top of things and had done this earlier in the week! Oh well!
2 boxes rice crispies on sale 2/$5
MQ free rice crispies ($2.50)
MQ ($1.00)
Total: $1.50
RR $2.00 {used on next transaction of some laundry detergent and toilet paper}
= $.50 overage!!!!!

If you know of other places to use my other $1 off rice crispies coupons, let me know!! I also just received vocalpoint's latest promo--Kashi Honey Cereal--haven't seen it in stores yet, so if you see a decent deal, let me know!

What I found at Office Depot

Well, I had $16.07 on my rewards card for Office Depot, so I decided to make a stop and get some of those school supplies we always use up. They were having a mail-in rebate sale (look for many more of these coming the closer we get to "back to school") and I think I did a decent job shopping! I also dropped off another ink cartridge for more credit coming to me later....

Mega Scott Glue Stick, damaged box, 1/2 price $1.49
6pack large erasers $2.99
magnetic storage locker cup (for our new bulletin board) $4.99
post-it flags $2.99
5pack PaperMate Expressions pens $3.99
6pack spiral notebooks $2.99
1" binder $1.99
SUBTOTAL: $21.43 + $1.68 tax
minus card = $7.04
MAIL-IN REBATES for the pens, notebooks and binder ($8.97)
makes my total = $1.93 overage!!
This pays for the stamp and more for the rebate! I could've done a tiny bit better, but I was getting stuff we "needed", or at least will use. There was a $10 minimum purchase on top of the rebate items and we went over this by just $2.46.

Mega-Sale buy 10, save $5 {price after $.50 is subtracted in parenthesis}:
Kroger individual pizzas (2) $1/1 = {$.50/1}

my total OOP with $1.26 tax = $24.86

I think I did a decent job even though I haven't kept up on the coupons as of late. To find these printable MQs, go to the list at The Weekly Grocery and support another mommy by clicking on the coupons she lists for the Dillons Sale. I found the Sunny D Q in a parenting magazine at the dr.'s office today--hope they didn't mind me cutting it out :) I think it was Parents, but I'm not sure.......the cereal bigtime Qs are from VocalPoint--sign up to get your great coupons!!! They send various insanely GREAT coupons every once in a while........

Staples is offering free paper and more!!

Check out Common Sense With Money to find out how to get a whole bunch of office supply/school stuff for REALLY close to free (we're talking pennies!!)
I have no idea how my trip might really play out--not planning a trip to town till Thursday, so I may really be too late to get in on the best deals......but what we REALLY always need to replenish is good crayons, colored pencils, and glue sticks.....not to mention ink cartridges [ugh!]. I also have not done the rebate thing with Staples yet--have a gift card here waiting for another trip to Office Depot from their Star Teacher program, though.

Huggies jumbo pack diapers $2.33/pack

Print your $5 and $3 Huggies Qs here, then head over to Common Sense with Money to find out why you should hold onto the Qs until next week (3/8) to use at Walgreens.....make sure to print 2 of each Q, you'll want to use at least 3 to get the best deal possible!!!
Don't wait to print your Qs though, they could be gone soon!!!!

Huggies Jumbo Packs $10
Buy 3, use 2 $5 MQ, 1 $3 MQ
OOP = $17, receive $10 RR, spent $7/3 or $2.33/1

My goal? Find 2 other people with an extra $3 MQ and repeat deal with 3 $3 MQ...
= $3.67/1, an avg with transaction #1 of $2.99/1.....
I may very well stock up on itty bitty baby diapers if I can justify storing them for 7+ months :) But I have one using GoodNights, 1 using nighttime training pants, 1 in diapers and 1 on the way--whatever I can do to save!!!!

PriceCutter Deals

today ends the weekly specials at PriceCutter and we were all well enough to venture out into public with hopes of no one getting sick on the short ride.....

I always have to check their reduced bakery rack and other items in the back by the bathrooms. I got $.79 hamburger buns and $.99 white sandwich bread as well as expired boxes of corn bread $.20/1.
ALSO on this discount shelving (I haven't tried MQ with these, so it's just a guess)--

Always Infinity Pads (lg boxes--30+) $5
Use $1/1 {mailers/booklets/samples}

Deals here and there...

Here are this week deals at Dillons.
They are still doing the $3 off 10 item deals......

Ever wondered about using a company's coupon on a different item? Or thought it wouldn't work? WELL--here is the secret!! It CAN and DOES work sometimes!

Print your own cleaning supply coupons and save at Walgreens this week.
I plan on this:
Transaction 1:
Fusion Gamer on sale $8.99
Use $4.00 MQ {2/8 P&G}
OOP $4.99, receive $6 RR

Transaction 2:
2 Scrubbing Bubbles wipes $3/2
printed $3/2 MQ
2 windex wipes$3/2
2 printed $1.50/1 MQ
2 Starbucks chocolate packs $10/2
2 $1/1 MQ {from a blinkie by the chocolates}
1 ESQ $3, comes off both, so -$6
chocolates will cost $1/1
total comes to $6, but use $6 RR, so just pay tax?!?

Transaction 3:
Another Gillette Fusion Gamer Razor
get $6 RR

Transaction 4:
4 Axe deodorants/antipersperents 25% off
$3.21/1
Use $6 RR
OOP $6.84 and get 2 movie passes!!! {that is worth what I spent in all 4 transactions!}

MAYBE a 5th transaction for another razor so I can have the RR for next weeks deals--hopefully much better than this weeks!! And a little birdie tells me they will be!!
ALSO--check out the Glade coupons and deal listed so your house can smell nice and romantic for this weekend :)

PRICECUTTER
2/11-2/17 2009
I haven't dbl checked to make sure these are the lowest prices available, but they look like decent deals--please tell me what I miss!!
  • Tyson Fresh Boneless Skinless Fryer Breast Fillet or Tender 1/2 price = $1.99/lb
  • Williams Bacon 12oz. $1.79
  • Kraft Ranch Dressing 16oz. $1.87
    use MQ $1/2 {SS } = $1.37/1
  • Hiland Sour Cream or Dip 8oz. $.79
  • Hiland Butter Qtrs. 1lb. $1.79
  • Powerade 32oz. $.79
  • Musselman's Apple Juice $1.69 (Aldis offbrand is probably cheaper)

Aldi's
I just saw one stand out deal and that's grapes for $1.68/2 lbs??? Good Grief--the Aldi's circular is missing in action! But I know it was a good deal and I don't buy grapes (even in winter) unless they are cheap......

WalMart
I haven't been in our WalMart lately except for diapers, so I haven't researched a whole lot, BUT I was read somewhere that you can get Purina $4/1 MQ (you must select a charity and I just had to search for one in my state since none in my area are registered) and there is a cat food less than $4 to get for free--but using it on an 18 lb bag would still be a great value if you buy cat food regularly anyway or are in need of some (unless you are just trying to get freebies and hope some other company comes out with another big Q).
Also--an ongoing deal if your WalMart carries sample Tide detergent in the travel section for around $.98 (my town does not, but local ones do), find the $1 MQ in the mailers or even the lower priced ones from the Sunday inserts and get Tide for dirt cheap!
Check this out for a great list of deals!! INCLUDING using those Tuna Qs from VocalPoint mailers!!! We'll see how our prices match up against hers........

Check out these coupons.......maybe some new ones you haven't printed yet?
